Violation

One of the films at The Sundance Film Festival in the Midnight section was the film VIOLATION. The film was written, produced & directed by Madeleine Sims-Fewer & Dusty Mancinelli and stars Madeleine Sims-Fewer Anna Maguire, Jesse La Vercombe, and Obi Abili. It had its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival where the two co-directors and creators met. It is a story of rape and revenge set in a different light and from a different perspective.

The film will be available on Shudder starting on February 25 and also will screen at the SXSW Film Festival. You can watch the trailer here.

Do I have thoughts about this film? Indeed, I do and a review is forthcoming. I will say that I think it is a film of worth and disturbing, but not as most of the films in the sub-genre.
